You Can’t Change Your Life With The Same Old Mindset

Get Your Head in the Game

Last week was about resetting and returning to the basics—sleep, movement, hydration—and this week is about turning inward. Because none of those habits stick without the right mindset to support them.

Let’s get real for a second.

You can try every supplement, every workout program, every reset...again and again.
But if your mindset is still rooted in guilt, perfectionism or self-doubt?
It won’t stick.

Midlife is not a time to play small or stay in old patterns that aren’t serving you.
It’s time to clean house—starting with your thoughts.

And I don’t mean just being positive all the time or reciting affirmations. That’s not for everyone.

I mean the quiet thoughts you think daily.
The stories you tell yourself when things don’t go as planned.
The beliefs you carry into your interactions, workouts, your food choices.

Midlife is a season of change. And HOW you think about those changes?
That’s what shapes how you MOVE THROUGH them.

Where Mindset Shows Up (and Holds You Back):

  • When you miss one workout and tell yourself you’ve “ruined” the week. (I used to do this often!)

  • When you eat something indulgent and spiral into shame (or again "ruined" the week).

  • When you assume you can’t change because “this is just how I am” or "I've been doing this my whole life".

  • When you crave rest but feel guilty taking it.

  • When you say “I’m too old,” “too late,” “too inconsistent,” "that's just not me".

Let’s be clear.

These are not facts.
They're practiced thoughts, and ones we’ve ingrained into ourselves.
They are tired scripts. And it’s time to rewrite them.

I Challenge You to Shift:

Catch your thoughts in real time—especially the ones that feel familiar but disempowering.
Stop saying “I should” and start trusting yourself and asking, “What do I actually need today?”
Quit labeling yourself (“I’m bad at routines”) and start leading yourself.
Focus on progress—not perfection, not punishment, not labels.

This week, give yourself a pass. Try something different.
Try changing and giving yourself a standard.

To think better. Speak better. Treat yourself better.

This Week’s Challenge/Reflection for You:

Choose one thought or belief that’s no longer serving you—and drop it. Now.
Then choose one new belief to practice instead.

You’re not here to be stuck in loops and waste time.
You’re here to evolve.
And it starts in your head.

Let’s release the pressure—and rewrite the narrative.

Here’s to shifting mindset, one thought at a time!
